This week’s demo, on Thursday January 25th, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. will be blind contour drawing with PAC Artist Laura Mancini.

If you are unfamiliar with the technique, it is a form of sketching/drawing done without ever looking down at your hands while you work. You look at the subject and follow its contours with your drawing tool of choice, completing the drawing as one continuous line without lifting your you pen/pencil until the end. It is a good way to train the eye to draw what it sees, rather than what it thinks should be there – the result does not have to be a true representation of the subject.

Materials required (bring your own): Sketchpad and drawing instruments of choice (pen, pencil, charcoal, etc.)

Free for club members, $5.00 for non-members. Location: Clubhouse in Roy Nicholson Park (intersection of Pine St. North and Eighth Avenue, Timmins).
