Happy Canada Day and Happy Platinum Jubilee to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II!
Our big day is finally here, and we’ve got all sorts of wonderful things in store for you today!
Drop by the clubhouse in Roy Nicholson Park (intersection of Pine Street North and Eighth Avenue) between 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to take part in the festivities.
We will have guest performers:
- Musicians from the Timmins Symphony Orchestra (starting at little after 12:00 p.m.)
- Actors from Take Two Theatre as various royal-related characters (starting around 1:00 p.m.)
- And musical performances from Mr. Bill
Enjoy some tea (or coffee, or water) and a cookie, and check our various artists’ demonstrations, plus have a look at our gallery in the clubhouse. Best of all, you can be a part of the art – we have 70 mosaic tiles laid our and ready to paint. Pick your tile (they’re small – 6″ X 6″/15 cm X 15cm) and paint it on-site. The tiles will then be put together in a community mural that will be displayed our our 75th Anniversary Exhibit “Honouring the Past” at the Timmins Museum: National Exhibition Centre in December!
Also, be sure to get a selfie (or several) in our Royal Tea and Art themed portrait cut-outs. PAC Artists John Allerston, Tammy Racicot, and Karina Douglas-Takayesu took great pleasure in painting up the cut-outs for our guests.
Here is a sampling of two them – recognize any familiar figures?

We look forward to seeing all our guests today!
